Let’s be honest, hot chips are delicious and a particular favourite snack-or-side here in Australia. But they should be avoided because they’re unhealthy, right?

Actually, not all chips are created equal and today our head chef Kim shares her Salted Sweet Potato Chips recipe. Baked not fried, a healthy alternative packed with crunch and absolutely delicious!

Kim’s Salted Sweet Potato Chips

1 medium sweet potato (choose an evenly round one)
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
Sea salt pepper

1. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees.
2. Wash the sweet potato ( no need to peel the goodness is underneath the skin) then use a mandolin or a sharp knife to cut paper thin circles.
3. Arrange the slices onto an oven tray lined with baking paper, brush lightly with the olive oil on both sides then season with salt and pepper
4. Bake for 15 minutes then flip the chips over and return to the oven for another 10 minutes, centres should be soft and the edges crisp
5. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with a little extra sea salt and serve immediately
