As Aussies, we love to get outdoors over summer… especially when there’s water nearby! The scorching sun mixed with sea salt in the air, knowing you can dive into the turquoise ocean to cool off at any time – beach adventures truly are quintessential Australian summer pastime.

Weekend beach hangs usually come served with delicious BBQs and fresh salads, so how do you walk off that giant lunch (after a little siesta)? It’s easy! Simply pick one of our nation’s best coastal walks, throw on some runners and work up a sweat with a light walk featuring million dollar views.

Perhaps you’re just looking for some exercise #inspo to get energised? These strolls are also the perfect beginning or end to a long summer’s day with guaranteed endorphins as a welcome result.

We’ve uncovered four of the best coastal walks around the country so choose the one closest to you and get exploring!

Sydney, NSW – Bondi To Bronte
Arguably the most famous coastal walk in Australia would have to be the Bondi to Bronte. It has it all; the spectacular views, small beaches dotted along the route, next-level people watching and uninterrupted views of the Pacific Ocean. Perfection.

Melbourne, VIC – The Bayside Coastal Trail
Get back to nature with brilliant views of the bay on the Bayside Coastal Trail. Spanning 17kms it’s am impressive length but you don’t need to tackle the whole trail – start or stop at Sandringham, Hampton and Black Rock in between the A/B points Beaumaris and Brighton.

Perth, WA – The Bibbulmun Track
The Bibbulmun Track is the top choice for Perth. It spans 900km all up (!) but we recommend trying the close-to-home section from Mundaring Weir Hotel to the Golden View lookout. Breathtaking outlooks and natural beauty everywhere you look.

Gold Coast, QLD – Burleigh Heads National Park
Two scenic walks coast their way through this pristine natural playground – one that wraps 1.2 kilometres around the park and another which ventures up the forest’s higher parts offering a harder 2.3-kilometre circuit. Both are beautiful iconic Gold Coast walks that showcase the region’s prettiest oceans.
