Beach business meetings. Get involved.

As some of you might have noticed by now, Sumo isn’t a conventional corporate run of the mill business. We like to keep things relaxed and I personally am a huge believer of mixing things up. That’s why I started to incorporate my passion for work and fitness together.

Sometimes with my busy schedule I don’t always get to fit in a long workout so in order to kill two birds with one stone I have started to incorporate my work with my fitness regime. I’ve started to organise beach business meetings with the Sumo management team in the morning to catch up on key business activities for the week. It’s nice to have these meetings out of the office with the sand between your toes. Once the business part of the meeting is out of the way we do some soft sand laps along the beach followed by a nutritious breaky at our closest Sumo store.

I find running along the beach first thing in the morning is a great way to get me in the right head space for the rest of the day. But, it’s not only great for your mind; it does wonders for your body too. Soft sand running is a full body work out. In no time at all, a soft sand regime will tone up your whole body as you have to work hard to move across the sand. In fact, since doing it regularly, I’ve noticed my fitness level has improved quite a bit.

But, don’t worry if you’re not super fit, or aren’t an athlete runner. Running/ jogging along the sand is a great way to start your running career too as it puts less pressure on your ankles and joints compared to running on the street or on a treadmill.

After sweating out those toxins and hydrating with some water and superfoods, your body will thank you for the fresh sea air and crisp autumn chill. Don’t just take my word for it. Why not try it for yourself during the cooler months to get your body ready for summer?
